Import rules at a glance
- Since 2 November 2025, all passenger cars – petrol, hybrid and electric – must meet Jordanian standards based on European, US, Gulf or Saudi specifications. Vehicles in EU specification usually comply.
- Electric cars must be less than 3 years old (including the year of customs clearance).
- Vehicles classified in the country of origin as accident, fire, flood or total-loss damaged may not be imported.
- Petrol and hybrid cars are also subject to an age limit, and only left-hand drive is allowed – please check the permitted model year with the consignee before buying.
Documents we need
- Registration certificate part I and II (original)
- Vehicle deregistered or with export plates
- Purchase contract or invoice showing VIN, make, model and year
- Copy of the shipper's ID card or passport; for companies the EORI number
- Name and address of the consignee in Jordan
- Proof of EU specification, e.g. Certificate of Conformity (CoC)
