Import rules at a glance
- Used cars are subject to an age limit (in practice usually no older than 8 years) – please check the permitted model year with the consignee before buying.
- Left-hand drive only.
- Duties and taxes are based on the vehicle value. For vehicles made in the EU, a proof of origin (EUR.1 or origin declaration) can bring customs benefits under the EU–Lebanon agreement.
- Depending on the case, the invoice and certificate of origin must be certified and legalised by the chamber of commerce – we clarify this with the consignee in advance.
Documents we need
- Registration certificate part I and II (original)
- Vehicle deregistered or with export plates
- Purchase contract or invoice showing VIN, make, model and year
- Copy of the shipper's ID card or passport; for companies the EORI number
- Name and address of the consignee in Lebanon
- Certificate of origin from the chamber of commerce, legalised if required
- Proof of origin EUR.1 or origin declaration for customs benefits
